VIDEO: Two seriously injured in head-on crash on Route 6 between exits 9 and 10

HARWICH – A head-on crash between two minivans on Route 6 between exits 9 and 10 had traffic at a standstill. About 10 AM, a Dodge Grand Caravan and Chevy Uplander van collided head-on. State Police said a total of four vehicles were involved in the collision. Both drivers were trapped and had to be extricated from the wreckage by firefighters using the Jaws of Life. A MedFlight helicopter along with a UMass LifeFlight helicopter were requested to Barnstable Municipal Airport for the victims. A third person was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

By 11 AM, The eastbound lane had reopened and a few minutes later State Police reported both directions were open. residual delays were likely for a time. Mass State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) was investigating the crash.
