UPDATED: One person suffers serious burns in Hyannis blaze


HYANNIS
– At least one person reportedly suffered burns after a fire erupted in Hyannis late Saturday afternoon. One unit of the apartmebt building at 44 Betty’s Pond Road was fully involved when crews arrived. Officials immediately requested an ambulance for the burn victim.

Rescuers then called for a MedFlight helicopter to Barnstable Municipal Airport to airlift the victim to a burn center. Firefighters were able to contain the flames to the apartment of origin. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
