BARNSTABLE – A man was seriously injured after reportedly being pinned by a boat that fell on him. Rescuers rushed to Stock Car Auto on Thornton Drive in the industrial park. According to reports, a boat that was in a least two pieces on a boat trailer was being picked up by a small excavator and placed on truck. As this was occurring the pieces fell off the truck and one piece struck one of the workers. Bystanders were able to free the victim before crews arrived. A MedFlight helicopter was requested to Barnstable Municipal Airport but was unable to respond due to weather. The victim was taken to Cape Cod Hospital. The incident is under investigation.
