MARSTONS MILLS – Multiple fire units rushed to the scene of a house fire in Marstons Mills. The call on St. Anton’s Way came in about 1:30 PM Wednesday reporting flames through the roof. Further investigation determined the fire involved solar panels on the roof of the home with no apparent damage to the interior of the home.

From Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire: At approximately 1:45 PM Wednesday, the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills (C-O-MM) Fire Department received a 911 call reporting a structure fire at 21 St. Anton’s Way in Marstons Mills. A neighbor reported visible flames coming from the roof of the residence.

C-O-MM Fire Department crews were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the first engine company observed flames showing from the peak of the roof. As crews advanced attack lines to the rear of the structure, they identified that the photovoltaic (solar) panels on the roof were actively burning.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, successfully preventing flame extension into the interior of the home. There were no reported injuries among fire suppression personnel.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time. We extend our gratitude to the mutual aid fire departments that responded to the scene and those who provided station coverage during the incident.
