One injured as fire breaks out in Mashpee

MASHPEE – One person was injured after fire broke out in a Mashpee home. Firefighters were called to 7 Timberlane Drive about 6 p.m. Smoke was pouring from the rear of the home on arrival. Fire crews were able to quickly knock down the fire which may have originated in a bedroom. Mutual aid from Sandwich and Cotuit, Centerville and Falmouth assisted at the scene while other crews covered the Mashpee station. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of burns. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s office.
