YARMOUTH – Fire broke out at a building at 18 Wood Road in South Yarmouth around 8:20 p.m. Saturday. The house was reported to be well involved when crews arrived on scene. A Dennis ladder truck was also called to the scene. Firefighters were able to quickly get the flames under control. There were no injuries but two pet dogs perished. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Red Cross is assisting the occupants with temporary shelter.
