Updated: Two injured, one seriously in Chatham construction accident

CHATHAM – Chatham Police report that on Friday at 9:58 a.m., they responded to an accident at a construction site with injuries. The site is located at 60 Hallet Lane at the corner of School Street. There was a crew from Toy’s Roofing & Siding working on the building. Two members of this company were standing on staging at the edge of the roof when the staging shifted and caused them to lose their balance and fall approximately 18’ to the ground.

One injured party, age 37 of Wareham, suffered a serious head injury and was transported to the Chatham Airport where he was then loaded into a Med Flight helicopter and taken to a Tuft Medical Center in Boston. The second injured party, age 31 of Plymouth, was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. OSHA is investigating the incident.
