HARWICH – A box truck struck a tree in Harwich about 5:30 PM. The crash happened on Route 124 at Prince Charles Drive. The two occupants were not seriously injured but firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to free them. It took about 30 minutes to free the passenger whose leg was reportedly stuck under the dashboard. He declined transport to the hospital. Route 124 was closed in that stretch for about 2 housr while officials worked the scene. The crash is under investigation by Harwich Police. Charges are reportedly pending against the driver.
