YARMOUTH – A person suffered a gunshot wound after a firearm was reportedly accidentally discharged in Yarmouth around 2:30 PM Monday afternoon. Rescuers rushed to Buck Island Village on Buck Island Road and transported the victim to Barnstable Municipal Airport to meet a MedFlight helicopter. Yarmouth Police have confirmed to Cape Wide News that it was an “accidental discharge by a license gun owner.” Deputy Chief Steven Xiarhos added the victim suffered a gunshot wound to his hand.
