At approximately 5:15 Friday evening, Brewster Fire-Rescue and Police were dispatched to the area of Main Street (Route 6A) and Underpass Road for a reported 2 car motor vehicle crash with injuries.  The head on collision between a Subaru station wagon and Chrysler sedan was found to be directly in front of the parking lot entrance to Chillingsworth Bistro located at 2449 Main Street.

Upon arrival, rescuers found the vehicles to have significant front end damage with air bag deployment and both drivers conscious but still in the vehicles. Medics evaluated both patients and determined one party to have potentially serious but non life threatening injuries and the other party requiring further evaluation. Both drivers were transported to Cape Cod Hospital by 2 Brewster ambulances.

Main Street was shut down in both directions with traffic rerouted to side roads while the scene was worked and the vehicles towed. Command was terminated about 6 p.m. and the scene was cleared of Fire-Rescue apparatus. The crash is under investigation by Brewster Police.
