Updated: Brief but widespread power outage in Harwich area Sunday evening

HARWICH – A brief but widespread power outage was reported for a short time Sunday evening. Eversource’s outage map briefly showed over 4,000 customers in the dark-mostly in Harwich and Dennis with some in Chatham and Brewster. Several CWN readers reported there had been other brief outages in the area the last couple of days.

On Tuesday, Eversource spokeperson Reid Lamberty told CWN the outage was due to an equipment issue at a substation.
