BARNSTABLE – Barnstable Police report that On Monday at 7:45 OM, officers responded to Indian Hill Road in Barnstable, where three victims claimed they were robbed at gun point by two men they met for a drug transaction. The two suspects were identified as 25-year-old Valter Barbosa and 18-year-old Nathon Rebeiro-Neves both of Brockton. One victim alleged that Rebeiro-Neves physically restrained him, while Barbosa pulled a firearm from his waistband and demanded cash and drugs. The perpetrators fled with one victims’ backpack, containing narcotics and personal items. Approximately 1 hour later, the suspects’ vehicle was stopped by Massachusetts State Police on Rte. 3 in Plymouth. State troopers recovered the stolen backpack and located a replica firearm under the driver’s seat. Barbosa and Rebeiro-Neves were placed under arrest and transported to the Barnstable Police Department where they were booked for Armed Robbery, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault & Battery, and Larceny of property valued over $1200.00. Both Barbosa and Rebeiro-Neves were held overnight on $5,00.00 cash bail, and are due for arraignment Tuesday in Barnstable District Court.
