Cape Cod Hoarding Task Force announces free support groups

BARNSTABLE – The Cape Cod Hoarding Task Force announces the availability of free peer support groups for compulsive acquiring, saving and hoarding during the fall of 2016.

These action-oriented self-help support groups, which are regularly offered across Cape Cod, are 15 sessions spread over 20 weeks. They are based on the book Buried in Treasures: Help for Compulsive Acquiring, Saving and Hoarding by David F. Tolin, Randy O. Frost and Gail Steketee.

All who register will:

• Receive support from others
• Receive help to develop strategies to de-clutter their home
• Work on ways to change problematic acquiring and discarding behaviors

Please note that groups will be held when a sufficient number of participants have registered.

Here is the tentative schedule for the following towns:

Harwich: Beginning late September (meetings on Wednesdays 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.); contact Kevin Grunwald, 508-430-7551
