Cape Cod Police host 7th Annual Back-to-School to School Shop with a Cop on Wednesday

YARMOUTH – On Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 11:30AM, the Yarmouth Police Department will be hosting the 7th annual Cape Cod and the Islands Back-to-School Shop with a Cop Program.

As Police Officers, we recognize that there are students and families who do not have the financial means to cover the costs of clothing and supplies needed to begin the school year.

In an effort to help these youths start the school year off in a positive light, we select students from towns all around Cape Cod to take them shopping for back-to-school clothing.

• Each student is taken to The Loft Restaurant at the Cove in West Yarmouth for a delicious complimentary lunch thanks to everyone at The Loft and then to Old Navy in Hyannis and given a $125 Gift Card.

• Additionally, we provide each student with a brand new back pack filled with school supplies.

• Police Departments from all over Cape Cod and the Islands participate in this wonderful program.

Through this program, students not only get the supplies they need, but also have the opportunity to spend the day with Police Officers.

Our goal is to build trust and strong community partnerships between students, their families, and Police Officers. Our objective is to empower students to succeed in school, develop good decision-making skills, and stand up to bullying.

We would like to thank all of those who donated in the past and helped make this program a success.
