Cape League Game to Honor Slain Yarmouth Police Officer

YARMOUTH – The Y-D Red Sox will play Sunday, July 8th at 5PM at home vs. the Chatham Anglers in a tribute game to Yarmouth Sgt. Sean Gannon who was killed in the line of duty in April of this year.

During the game, the Y-D Red Sox will wear special jerseys and have a small pre-game ceremony where a check will be donated to The Yarmouth Police Department Foundation on behalf of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

“The Yarmouth Police Department plays an important role in our organization each season, ensuring that our fans and players remain safe. This year we wanted to extend the relationship with honoring one of our fallen officers but also being a program “Sox with Cops” This gives our organization an opportunity to ride along with an officer and truly learn what they do. We hope you come out to honor Officer Gannon and support your local community, “said Y-D Red Sox GM Steve Faucher.

At the game, you will also be able to buy for $5 a specially designed pin in honor of the service and dedication provided by Sgt. Sean Gannon.
