YARMOUTH – A car caught fire on Route 28 at the Yarmouth side of the Bass River Bridge Friday afternoon. The vehicle was fully involved when firefighters arrived. The fire was quickly knocked down. Traffic was diverted while the scene was worked. No injuries were reported.
The Yarmouth Division of Natural Resources reported that a Yarmouth DNR Law Enforcement Officer came across the fully involved vehicle fire. The officer immediately notified Yarmouth Fire and Yarmouth Police and then checked the vehicle to make sure no one was inside. Once it was confirmed everyone was out of the vehicle he quickly secured the area as responding units came to assist.
