Updated: Car crashes into Bourne hotel room

– Bourne Police report that at approximately 9:14 p.m. Saturday evening. they responded to the Quality Inn at 100 Trowbridge Road for a one car motor vehicle crash into the building. Upon arrival officers discovered a Chevrolet Impala sedan being operated by a 42 year old woman from New York had crashed through a glass patio window at ground level and the vehicle was completely inside the room.

The room was unoccupied at the time and there were no injuries to any vehicle occupants. After an investigation, officers determined the operator depressed the accelerator pedal to rev the engine, not realizing the vehicle was in gear.

The operator was checked and cited for reckless operation of a motor vehicle. The hotels structure was checked by the town building inspector and was allowed to remain open.
