UPDATED: Car crashes into Buzzards Bay Post Office

BOURNE
– From Bourne Police: The Bourne Police Department received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle crash into the U.S. Post Office building at 220 Main Street in Buzzards Bay about 12:40 PM Monday afternoon. The first officers on scene reported the vehicle was halfway inside the building in the lobby/counter area. Officers determined the 79-year-old Bourne man had accelerated out of control while pulling into a parking space in front of the building. The vehicle, a 2005 Toyota Camry Solara convertible, had jumped the sidewalk curb in front of the building traveling through the front wall into the lobby. No customers were inside the lobby at the time of the crash, and Post Office workers were safe behind the counter. The operator was evaluated by paramedics at the scene and released without injury. He will be charged with operating to endanger and an Immediate Threat has been filed with the RMV.

This is not the first time a car has crashed into the Post Office in Bourne. On January 19th of this year another vehicle crashed through in almost the same spot (see related story here).
