HARWICH – A car struck a utility pole in Harwich around 3:30 PM Sunday afternoon. The crash happened on Pleasant Lake Avenue (Route 124) at Williams Way. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz sedan was treated and released but the pole was snapped prompting a closure of Route 124 in the section between Main Street and Route 6 until Eversource could arrive. The crash is under investigation by Harwich Police. Eversource crews cut power to nearly 1,900 customers in Harwich to make repairs.
