CERT training offered


YARMOUTH/DENNIS
– If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to get more involved in your community’s emergency preparedness and response activities, then take the training and become a volunteer member of a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

Yarmouth Dennis (YD) CERT is pleased to announce a 6-session CERT training class starting October 1, 2018.

Topics covered include emergency preparedness, fire safety, light search and rescue, disaster medical and psychological, and terrorism. 

Classes will run from 6 – 9 p.m. on the following dates at the following locations: Monday, October 1, Yarmouth Police Department; Wednesday, October 3, Yarmouth Police Department; Wednesday, October 10, TBA; Monday, October 15, Yarmouth Police Department; Tuesday, October 16, Dennis Police Department; and Wednesday, October 17, Yarmouth Police Department. The day and location of the final exercise will be announced. Participants must attend all classes to receive a certificate. 

Applications are available at the Yarmouth Police Station and the Dennis Police Station. Participants must be 16 years or older to attend. For more information call YD CERT coordinator Gaynor Foster at 508-367-9970.
