SANDWICH – A chemical odor prompted a state Hazardous Materials response to Sandwich. Firefighters were called to the McCarthy Care Center on the Service Road about 12:15 p.m. It reportedly turned out a spill of non-toxic glycol led to the odor being spread by the HVAC system. Patients were sheltered in place in their rooms. No injuries were reported.
