MASHPEE – A child reportedly suffered significant leg trauma at Wakeby Pond around 6 PM Tuesday. The victim was brought to the state boat ramp on Route 130. Rescuers called for a MedFlight helicopter but it was too far away so the child was rushed to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence. According to reports, the victim was on a tube when he was struck by a boat. It was not clear if the child was hit by the propeller.
