MARTHA’S VINEYARD – A U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod Ocean Sentry aircrew medevaced a 73-year-old woman tonight from Martha’s Vineyard. The woman was in need of a higher level of care than the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital could provide and medical flights were grounded due to weather. The aircrew transported her to Barnstable Municipal Airport where she was transferred to awaiting EMS personnel who were expected to bring her to Cape Cod Hospital.

The second medevac occurred Wednesday morning when the crew transported a 23-year-old pregnant woman from Nantucket to Logan International Airport. Once at Logan the patient’s care was transferred to EMS who were expected to bring her to Massachusetts General Hospital.
