Connecticut man arrested for 3rd offense OUI, held on $2,500 bail

WEST YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Sunday at approximately 3:13 PM, Patrol Officer Mark Noone observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Higgins-Crowell Road in West Yarmouth. Cruiser mounted radar found the vehicle to be traveling 64 MPH in a posted 40 MPH Zone.

Patrol Officer Noone attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop but the vehicle did not come to a stop until 1 mile later on Townbrook Road.

Officer Noone and fellow dayshift shift Patrol Officers found the operator to be intoxicated and placed him under arrest for OUI. The driver was identified as Patrick Andrew Brenner, 36, of Waterbury, Ct. A record check found two prior OUI convictions for Brenner in Connecticut.

Brenner’s Nissan Versa was towed and impounded.

Brenner was booked at YPD Headquarters on charges of operating under the influence of liquor (3rd offense), operating negligently to endanger, marked lanes, fail to stop, fail to stop for police, and speeding. He was held overnight on $2,540 bail set by the Bail Commissioner. Brenner was due to be in the Barnstable District Court on Monday for arraignment.
