WEST BARNSTABLE – Two separate crashes were reported on Route 6 in West Barnstable as downpours moved through. Barnstable and West Barnstable crews were responding. One crash was westbound with 1 minor injury reported. A short time later a rollover was reported on Route 6 eastbound about a half mile before exit 6. Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to free the driver. The woman victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to Cape Cod Community College to meet a MedFlight helicopter which flew her to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. State Police are investigating if the weather was a factor in the crashes.
