WEST DENNIS – The Dennis Fire Association honored Dennis resident Lorraine Eaton at a ceremony at Dennis Fire Department headquarters on Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Eaton was recognized for her efforts in planting and maintaining the flowerbeds around Dennis Fire headquarters.

Mrs. Eaton has a decades-long association with the Dennis Fire Department dating back to when her late husband Wesley served as a volunteer firefighter. Mr. Eaton, who passed away in 2009, served the Town of Dennis for 32 years, not only as in a firefighter but also as a special police officer, shellfish constable, natural resource officer and harbormaster.

Dennis Fire Chief Mark Dellner joked to Mrs. Eaton, “It is hard to make us look good, but you make us look good.”

The plaque from the Fire Association stated: “the Dennis Fire Association acknowledges and appreciates your dedicated years of hard work in making our grounds so special.”

Hart Farm Nursery and Garden Center was also acknowledged for its yearly donation of flowers and material in support of Mrs. Eaton’s efforts.
