HYANNIS – An alleged case of road rage and reports of shots being fired Tuesday night in Hyannis resulted in the arrest of Dennis man.

Nicholas Beale, 21, was taken into custody on Wednesday.

Barnstable Police responded to Frost Lane around 8:30 p.m. following multiple 911 calls.

The investigation found that following a road rage incident in Yarmouth, a white Honda with 4 occupants followed another vehicle back to Frost Lane.

Upon arriving home and running inside, the two residents immediately heard gunshots outside.

Another occupant of the home went outside where Beale allegedly verbally threatened to shoot him and then fired more rounds from a handgun.

Further investigation by Yarmouth and Barnstable patrol officers led to the discovery of Beale’s vehicle in Marstons Mills.

After obtaining a warrant, he was arrested at his home in Dennis.

Beale was charged with 3 Counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Firearm), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of a Dwelling.

Beale is currently on probation in Plymouth District Court and was detained on an additional warrant for OUI Drugs and Liquor. He was set to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Thursday, December 21, 2017
