Dennis Police respond to spate of crashes Monday morning

DENNIS – Late Monday morning proved to be a busy period for officers from the Dennis Police Department as they were called upon to respond to five motor vehicle crashes in a twenty minute period.

The chronology of crashes:

  • 10:45 am- Old Bass River Road and Bob Crowell Road, South Dennis, 2 vehicles, occupants evaluated for injury
  • 10:55 am- 686 Route 134, South Dennis, 2 vehicles, 4 injured
  • 10:57 am- Route 6A at Paddocks Path, East Dennis,  2 vehicles, no injuries
  • 11:04 am- Upper County Road at Highbank Road, South Dennis, 2 vehicles, no injuries

All available patrol and Detective units were called upon to investigate the crashes and provide traffic control. The Dennis Fire Department provided medical transport to a number of those injured in the crashes.

The on duty Emergency Telecommunications Officer, Kelly Turner, and Police Cadet, Rachel Bunce, handled all of the 911 calls and radio traffic that came into the Department’s Dispatch center seamlessly, coordinating the overall response to each of the crashes.
