Updated: Missing woman in Cotuit located safe

wallalexaCOTUIT – Barnstable Police were searching the Cotuit area late Thursday afternoon into the evening for an missing 26-year-old woman. Several K9 dogs and the Mass State Police Air Wing are working in the area of Putnam Avenue. The search was scaled back Thursday evening resumed Friday. On Friday, Barnstable Police identified the missing woman as Alexa Wall. She is a white female, 5 foot 6 inches tall and about 135 pounds. Her mother reported her missing after the two became separate. The mother told officials she was last wearing a white tank top and dark shorts but a surveillance photo police obtained appeared to show her wearing a pink tank top. Police are concerned for her well being but say she is not a danger to approach. Anyone knowing her whereabouts is asked to call 911.

Update: Sometime after 2 p.m. Barnstable Police reported Ms. Wall had been located safely in the woods off Whitmar Road by Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Deputy Officer Patrick Martinand his partner. Ms. Wall was alert and taken to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation. Police say a tip from the public led them to the area where she was found
