NEW DETAILS: Body found in Sandwich, victim’s crashed car found nearby

SANDWICHFrom Sandwich Police: The Sandwich Police Department is investigating the discovery of a dead body in a Cranberry Bog off of Old County Road in East Sandwich.

A deceased male in his late 30’s was located by a dog walker at approximately 7:28 AM Tuesday morning. No foul play is suspected. This incident is currently under investigation.

Statement from Cape and Islands District Attorney’s office: At approximately 7:30 Tuesday morning a body was discovered in a cranberry bog near  Old County Road in Sandwich.  The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Daniel Sullivan.  Sullivan’s vehicle was located a short distance away in an apparent car accident.  The matter remains under investigation by State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office  and Sandwich Police.   The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has accepted jurisdiction of the case.
