– A man reportedly discovered a device on a Chatham beach and brought it to his home on Eben’s Way. The Chatham Police  called the Massachusetts State Police to send a bomb technician to check it out. The State Trooper determined that the device was a practice bomb used by the Navy during World War II.   The ordnance would simulate the actual trajectory of a real bomb with a smoke charge. Officials remind the public if you come across any suspicious item to leave it in place and call 911.
