Updated: Crash involving cruiser in Eastham


EASTHAM – There was a two-vehicle crash reportedly involving an Eastham Police cruiser around 6 PM Saturday. The crash happened on Route 6 by Arnold’s Lobster & Clam Bar. The officer was reported to be okay. EMTs were evaluating the people in the other vehicle. Traffic delays were possible in the area while the investigating was underway.

Update: Eastham Police tell Cape Wide News that On Saturday, September 19, 2020, at approximately 5:50 PM, an Eastham Police Cruiser was
involved in a motor vehicle crash on Route 6 in front of Arnold’s Restaurant. The Eastham Police vehicle, a 2018 Ford SUV, was traveling northbound on Route 6 with its emergency lights activated, and collided with a 2012 Buick sedan that was exiting the Arnold’s parking lot.
Both occupants of the Buick were transported to Cape Cod Hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries. The Eastham Police Officer was also transported to Cape Cod Hospital with minor injuries. The crash scene was secured by the Eastham Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police were requested to conduct the investigation. The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene to take photographs.

The crash remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police.
