OSTERVILLE – The Coast Guard put out a request for Cape Cod FD marine units to assist in a search early Thursday afternoon. The call came after the discovery of an overturned kayak in the water off Sea View Avenue in Osterville. Fire and harbormaster units from several departments including Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills, Hyannis and Yarmouth were involved.
UPDATE: About 2:15 PM it was determined the person with the kayak had run into trouble but was able to swim to shore safely.
