UDPATED: Several agencies search off Sandy Neck after flare sightings

BARNSTABLE – Several marine units were called to search Cape Cod Bay outside Sandy Neck early Monday evening after several reports of flares being shot off. Barnstable, West Barnstable and Sandwich fire units along with Coast Guard assets took part in the operation. There was no confirmation of any vessel in distress. About 8:15 PM, all units were securing as nothing had been found and seas were increasingly choppy.
