HYANNIS – Barnstable Police report that on Thursday at 10:40 PM, patrol officers were dispatched to Domino’s Pizza on Falmouth Road in Hyannis regarding a belligerent customer causing a problem with staff. The customer was identified as Shaune Wittenmeyer, 42, of Hyannis. Wittenmeyer was irate with Domino’s staff over a dispute regarding his “pizza points”. Officer John O’Hare spoke with Wittenmeyer and asked him to wait outside while he spoke with employees. Ofc. O’hare observed Wittenmeyer to have a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. While standing outside Wittenmeyer began knocking pizza boxes out of a Domino’s delivery person’s hand. Wittenmeyer was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. He was also placed into protective custody for being intoxicated. Wittenmeyer’s belligerent demeanor escalated after being secured with handcuffs. He was transported to the Barnstable Police Department. All attempts to calm Wittenmeyer down met with negative result. He refused to cooperate with the booking procedure and or comply with any police requests.

At one point Wittenmeyer began to taunt and mock officers attempting to restrain him with remarks about the recently murdered Yarmouth Police Sgt. Sean Gannon. He told an officer that he wished he was the “dead cop”. Wittenmeyer knew his reference to Sgt. Gannon bothered the officers and taunted them further laughing stating “What are you going do about it? Freedom of speech right?” Wittenmeyer was eventually secured in a holding cell. Based on his statements, Wittenmeyer was also charged with intimidating a witness. Barnstable Police learned Wittenmeyer’s Massachusetts Driver’s License was suspended for failure to pay child support. Barnstable Police are investigating how Wittenmeyer arrived at Domino’s. A vehicle associated with Wittenmeyer was located in the parking lot but police did not witness him driving it.

Wittenmeyer was released on $500 cash bail and will be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Monday.
