Drill simulated attack on passenger ferry

HYANNIS – The United States Coast Guard participated in a multi-agency maritime security exercise at Hyannis Harbor Thursday. According to a United States Coast Guard release, the exercise began around 8 a.m. at the Hy-Line Cruises terminal. More than 100 people including members of the USCG, the Massachusetts State Police, Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office, Barnstable Police Department and other local police departments participated.

The exercise simulated a response and recovery of an attack on a passenger ferry.

Hy-Line personnel also participated in the exercise.
