Driver allegedly OUI after allegedly crashing into another vehicle on Route 6 in Wellfleet


WELLFLEET
– Wellfleet Police report that on Monday at approximately 2:42 PM, they started to receive reports of an erratic operation complaint of a brown Toyota Camry, traveling westbound (towards Eastham) on Route 6 in the northern part of Wellfleet. At approximately 2:44 PM, Wellfleet PD received a report of car crash in the vicinity of Route 6 and Lawrence Road.

Upon the arrival of Wellfleet PD, police learned the vehicle described in the above erratic operation had struck a Robert B. Our work truck towing a utility trailer, stopped in traffic on Route 6 (westbound).

Officers conducting an investigation of the scene determined the operator of the 2005 Camry indentified as Stephen Curtin, 55, of Arlington, MA was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested at the scene and transported to the Wellfleet Police Station for booking. Additional charges are possible.

The Camry had 3 adult passengers, one of which was transported with injuries that were not-life-threatening.

No one in the Robert B. Our vehicle was injured.

Route 6 remained open during the investigation.

This is an active investigation and further information will not be released till Tuesday, giving officers time to do their investigation.
