HYANNIS – A Barnstable Police cruiser was reportedly rear-ended around 9:30 PM Saturday evening. The crash happened on South Street near Pine Street. The officer was taken to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation but is expected to be okay. The driver of the car that struck the cruiser was reportedly arrested for operating under the influence of liquor. The crash remains under investigation.
