DENNIS – From Dennis Police: The operator of the vehicle involved in the fatal motor vehicle crash on November 6, 2018 is identified as Emily Marks, age 38, of Dennis Port who was pronounced dead at Cape Cod Hospital last evening. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Previous story: On Tuesday at 8:34 pm the Dennis Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a single car motor vehicle crash on Route 28 at Old Jail Lane in West Dennis. On arrival officers found that a 2002 Ford truck, traveling east on Route 28, had left the south side of the road and struck a large tree. The single occupant of the truck, the female driver, was trapped and had to be extricated by personnel from the Dennis Fire Department. The driver, a 38 year old resident of Falmouth, was transported to Cape Cod Hospital where she passed away from her injuries. The identity of the driver is not being released at this time pending notification of her next of kin.
Route 28 in the area of the crash was closed while officers from the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction Team investigated with assistance from the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
