East Falmouth man facing multiple charges after allegedly hitting child, leaving scene in Provincetown


PROVINCETOWN
– An East Falmouth man is facing multiple charges after allegedly striking a child and leaving the scene. Officials rushed to the scene on Bradford Street near Ryder Street around 9 PM. Luckily the child and guardian were not seriously injured. Police put out an alert for a White Mercedes convertible witnesses said struck the child and then fled the scene. A short time later, Wellfleet Police spotted the vehicle in their town and stopped it. When Provincetown Police arrived at the scene, the driver was administered field sobriety tests as seen on the video below. Provincetown Police identified the driver at Lester Adelstein, 68, of East Falmouth. They say he faces charges of operating under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of personal injury, marked lanes violation and operating to endanger. The incident remains under investigation by Ofc. Jefferson Willis and Sgt. Thomas Koumanelis.
