Updated 11:30 PM: Power outages as T.S. Jose continues to blow through

– 11:30 PM update: Isolated power outages remain except in Orleans where over 500 Eversource customers have been in the dark all evening. Orleans Police posted that Route 28 in the area of Quanset Road (headed toward Chatham) was detoured down Route 39 until further notice due to downed power lines (photo above). Eversource was on scene and the power was restored there shortly before 11:30 PM. Elsewhere, the National Weather Service reported less than an inch of rain has fallen on the Cape. Peak wind gust of 47 MPH in Woods Hole.

7 PM update: Power outages are becoming more numerous as winds continue to blow. Eversource reports 700 out in Orleans along with 250 each in Brewster and Harwich. 350 are out in Sandwich where police tweeted that branches in the wires on Quaker Meetinghouse Road was to blame.

Previous: The photo above shows the scene Wednesday afternoon at Sandy Neck. Officials report no major problems across the Cape. Tropical Storm Jose was about 150 miles south of Nantucket with maximum sustained winds of 70 MPH. Eversource reported 125 customers without power in Barnstable.
