BOURNE – Firefighters had to used the Jaws of Life to free at least one occupant after a head-on crash in Bourne about 7:30 PM Thursday evening. The crash happened on Sandwich Road by the Midway Recreation Area. One victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital trauma center in Providence, the second to Falmouth Hospital. The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. Sandwich Road was closed in the area and motorists were urged to use the Scenic Highway as an alternate route. Bourne Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
