FALMOUTH – A procession from Logan Airport to Falmouth brought the body of Hillsborough County Deputy and Cape Cod native John Kotfila Jr. home Sunday afternoon. Fellow police offficers and civilians alike lined the route, many saluting as the procession passed. At the rotary by the Bourne State Police barracks, several cruisers and fire trucks lined the inside of the circle as the hearse carrying Deputy Kotfila’s body passed by.
Deputy Kotfila was killed Saturday March 12th when his cruiser was struck by a wrong way driver on a Brandon, FL expressway. The other driver was also killed. A witness told reporters Deputy Kotfila drove in front of her likely saving her life.
Deputy Kotfila’s father is a Mass State Police sergeant and his brother is a Falmouth police officer. Arrangements are as follows:
