FALMOUTH – At approximately 1:45 AM Monday morning, Falmouth engines 21, 24, and 25 along with ladder 26 were dispatched to a building fire at 15 Providence Street in the Maravista section of Town. First arriving units found heavy fire showing from a large 2 story dwelling, with severe exposure problems on 3 sides due to flying brands and radiant heat. A second alarm was quickly struck, bringing all remaining Falmouth units as well as engine companies from the Mashpee and Cotuit FD’s to the scene. Numerous hand lines were deployed, and the fire was brought under control in about an hour. There were no injuries, and the fire is currently under investigation by the Falmoth Fire Rescue Department, Falmouth Police and the State Fire Marshals Office. Mutual aid from Bourne, Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills and Joint Base Cape Cod FD’s provided station coverage during the incident.
