Falmouth man accused of lewd behavior in Yarmouth

YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Monday at 3:30 PM, Patrol Officer Rick Aprea was dispatched to the area near the basketball courts of Peter Homer Park, which is located at 144 Old Town House Road in South Yarmouth, for a report that a man with a shopping cart, who was believed to be homeless, that was seen masturbating.

Upon arrival, several male and female adult eyewitnesses confirmed the report. They were very upset and worried about the children in the area.

The suspect was positively identified as Jefrey B. Anderson, 62, of Falmouth. He was charged with Lewd, Wanton and Lascivious conduct.

Anderson was transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters and held overnight. He was transported to the Barnstable District Court Tuesday morning for arraignment.

Peter Homer Park is a beautiful facility with no prior issues of concern. The YPD is grateful to the concerned citizens who reported this incident.

After he was arraigned on the felony charge Tuesday morning, Anderson was released on personal recognizance with court orders to stay away from Peter Homer Park and is back in the community.
