Falmouth Police investigating after Mashpee man stabbed


FALMOUTH
– Falmouth Police report that late Monday night, police responded to a disturbance. Officers determined that there was an altercation and a man had been stabbed on Old Barnstable Road. The caller reported hearing two loud bangs that they thought were gun shots. 

It started about 9:30 PM when officers responded to a residence on Old Barnstable Road for a report of an argument. Responding officers found a snow covered yard soaked in blood. They also encountered 58-year-old Kenneth Teixeira in the yard who was uncooperative and confrontational. He was later arrested for obstruction and resisting arrest. 

Upon entering the home, officers discovered more blood. Police immediately asked the occupants who was hurt. After initially refusing to cooperate, they eventually revealed that the victim was at Falmouth Hospital. 

An inquiry at the hospital revealed that the 29-year-old victim had been stabbed at least four times and was in the Intensive Care Unit.

The investigators were unable to confirm that there were in fact gun shots.       

A search warrant was executed at the home and detectives seized marijuana, cocaine, several different pills, scales, packaging materials, ammunition, two shotguns, and one rifle.

The incident remains under investigation and further charges are pending.
