FALMOUTH – Little Pond Sewer Service Area Construction Update – Maravista peninsula planned construction activity for the week of November 7th.
In the week of November 7th, the last of the sewer laterals in the Little Pond Sewer Service Area will be installed (the remaining laterals to be completed are on Chestnut Street), and the last of the planned Maravista peninsula storm drainage structures will be installed.
Installation of storm drainage structures can require temporary blockage of a side road. Side road residents should communicate with the police detail officer on site to indicate that they wish to exit the street. There may be a wait of a few minutes, but the detail officer can request the excavator to move temporarily to allow vehicles to exit.
Final paving of some LPSSA area roads is scheduled to begin on Monday November 7th. Not all Maravista roads will receive final paving this fall; roads in which sewers were installed more recently will receive final paving in the spring (to allow sufficient time for settlement). Roads expected to be paved over the next 3 weeks are as follows: Swallow Street, Hitching Post Lane, Hickory Lane, Kimberly Lane, Priscilla Street east, Cedar Street, Spring Bars Road from Worcester Court to Davis Straits, Iroquois Street east, Bourne Street east, Philadelphia east (final trench paving), Rose Street, Worcester Court from the Mall Entrance to just south of Spring Bars Road, Alphonse Street. Spring Bars Road and the Spring Bars Road sidewalk will get their final surface course of pavement this month as well. Paving is a multi-step process; roads may be in an intermediate state (for example pulverized and graded, or milled) for a week or more before final paving is completed.
In addition to the above-listed work, sewer testing and other miscellaneous work required to complete the sewer system installation will continue over the next month, and again as needed in the spring.
