Update: Fatal double stabbing in Hyannis

HYANNIS
– (CCB) District Attorney Michael O’Keefe and Barnstable Police Chief Paul MacDonald announced today they are actively investigating a fatal stabbing in Hyannis. Earlier this morning, at approximately 1:30 a.m. Barnstable Police responded to Beth Lane in Hyannis for a reported altercation.

Upon arrival police encountered two stabbing victims. One individual has suffered fatal injuries and has been identified as Thomas Russell, 26, of Hyannis. The other individual remains in critical condition.

An individual has been placed under arrest for a probation violation at this time. The matter remains under investigation by Barnstable Police and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
