Fire crews battle strong winds trying to contain brush fire in Sandwich

SANDWICH – Sandwich Fire reports they responded with 14 firefighters to extinguish a brush fire off Quaker Meetinghouse Road at Cobblestone Way. The fire was contained to a half acre and did not damage any property on Cobblestone Way. State DCR 3 responded and assisted at the scene. The fire spread rapidly due to the dry windy conditions. Fire officials urge you to be aware of disposal of smoking materials in these dry conditions.
