BOURNE – Fire erupted in a house in Bourne sometime after 8:30 PM Tuesday. Heavy fire was showing from the residential structure in toe 200 block of Williston Road. The house was reportedly unoccupied at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. Several departments responded mutual aid to the scene. The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.

From Bourne Firefighters: Tuesday night around 8:30 PM, crews were dispatched to a structure fire in Sagamore with heavy fire showing on arrival.

Initially, they were faced with a few complications, such as the 2nd due engine being tied up with another smoke in the building call, and a water main break right in the area of the structure fire.

Command staff on location were able to resolve the situation and the crews were able to lay about 1000 feet of large diameter hose, relay pump from 2 mutual aid engines, and continue fire attack and suppression.

In addition, a full department recall was ordered and we were able to get an additional 10 members from home to come in and go to work on scene.

Bourne thanks their mutual aid partners from all over, sayign they are lucky to have a strong working relationship with neighboring towns and departments.
